Description

AP Professionals has been retained exclusively to partner with a premier, family-run electrical contractor who has been in business for decades in search of an Electrical Estimator. This position plays a critical role in supporting our electrical and construction projects by providing accurate estimates, developing budgets, managing change orders, and collaborating with project teams to deliver successful outcomes. Depending on experience, candidates may fulfill an entry-level, advanced, or senior role within the Electrical Estimating team, with responsibilities scaling accordingly.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical and construction project estimating, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and manage budgets, schedules, and change orders.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate project scope, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance for inspection, testing, and project deliverables.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and quality control for their work (advanced and senior roles).
  • Lead estimating efforts for complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, technicians, and foremen (advanced and senior roles).
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project, to document and manage project details.
  • Read and interpret building plans, specifications, and electrical code requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company’s mission, values, and standards of integrity and excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).

Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of electrical/construction estimating experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in electrical estimating for a variety of project types.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans, specifications, and electrical codes.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Certifications: OSHA Certification (required).
