Description

AP Professionals of Rochester has partnered with a manufacturing company in search of an Electrician.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position.

This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine cabinet dimensions, operation sequences, and setup prerequisites.
  • Collaborates with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to address wiring or assembly challenges.
  • Updates as-built prints and liaises with engineers to communicate vital project details.
  • Offers suggestions regarding basic component procurement (e.g., wire-ways, terminal blocks).
  • Panel Assembly
  • Plans the positioning of holes on the control back panel.
  • Performs hole drilling and tapping as required.
  • Installs DIN rails, wire ducts, and directly attached components.
  • Secures components to the DIN rail.
  • Connects devices to control blueprints.
  • Creates cutouts for device installation (e.g., disconnects, A/C units, HMIs).
  • Installs fully assembled back panels into cabinets.
  • Pneumatic Assemblies
  • Constructs pneumatic air preparation units.
  • Assembles pneumatic valve banks.
  • On-Machine Tasks
  • Connects wiring from the control cabinet to machine-mounted devices.
  • This may involve machine-based distribution blocks.
  • Connects pneumatic devices to machine-mounted cylinders.
  • Organizes cabling and tubing for optimal machine function and minimal interference.
  • Verifies the initial operation of machine-mounted devices.
  • Assists with machine debugging, encompassing activities such as:
  • Conducting power-on I/O checks.
  • Setting up and aligning sensors (e.g., proximity switches, photo eyes, hall-effect sensors).
  • Wiring temporary jumpers and systems as necessary for debugging or troubleshooting.
  • Observing machine operation during the early debugging phase.
  • May be required to travel for project installations.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Adheres to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate hearing and eye protection with side shields and sturdy footwear.
  • Performs any other tasks assigned by management within the position's scope and in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Education

  • Must have a  Vocational or Associates Degree.

Experience

  • Two or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of educational background and practical experience.
