AP is partnering with a local company in search of a skilled Field Supervisor. The Field Supervisor oversees project execution, coordinates with the operations team, monitors technician progress, fosters customer relationships, and installs, maintains, or repairs fire alarm and security systems. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to align schedules, plan projects, and procure necessary materials and equipment for technicians.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager to ensure awareness of current project status and anticipate future project requirements.
  • Keep detailed records of project status, technician activity, hours worked, job costing, and other project management-related tasks.
  • Update and upgrade customer security software as needed.
  • Install, repair, or replace security systems and alarm devices according to electrical layouts and building plans, either remotely or on-site.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve system problems and failures through troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with relevant staff from proposal execution through installation and ongoing maintenance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide demonstrations and training sessions for customers' IT personnel on system functionality and usage.
  • Collaborate with technical support personnel from manufacturers as required.
  • Monitor and support field technicians in resolving escalated service issues and completing installations.
  • Inspect installation sites, review work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standard practices during all work activities.
  • Follow established operational procedures to promptly address and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Complete work order paperwork, expense reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular updates to managers/supervisors on job status, any encountered problems, potential issues, and other pertinent information.
  • Monitor and ensure field quality control measures are implemented and promptly address any necessary corrections.
  • Offer after-hours support to clients for system environments, including resolving issues, installing applications, and monitoring servers, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education

  • Technical Certification or relevant degree in a related field.
  • OSHA 10 certification with OSHA 30 preferred.
  • NICET Level I or II certification is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a technician in the security or fire control/alarm industry.
  • Proven experience in supervising, coaching, and developing staff.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to navigate relational databases and effectively utilize internet resources.
  • Familiarity with card access systems, security protocols, fire alarm systems, and control mechanisms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract document examination, including proficiency in blueprint interpretation, analysis of building construction documents, and specification review.
  • Strong communication and customer service aptitude.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in Lenel or similar major security management system software is preferred.
