Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex reconciliations and financial analysis for various account types, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Analyze and forecast organizational finances, including compensation, FTEs, and salary tracking.
  • Oversee operating, salary, capital, endowment, gift, and discretionary budgets to support strategic financial planning.
  • Supervise financial analysts in managing a range of accounts and externally funded projects.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support resource planning, budget development, and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports and analysis to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Create and present financial dashboards and visualizations to highlight trends and support operational planning.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to add value through financial insight and process optimization.
  • Complete special projects assigned by management.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development relevant to the role and division objectives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • MBA or MS in a related field preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or CIA preferred.

Experience

  • At least 7 years of related accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Experience with enterprise-wide financial systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proactive approach to responsibilities and problem-solving.
