Description

AP has partnered with an amazing, local non-profit organization in search of a Temp-to-Hire HR Generalist Opportunity! This role requires a detail-oriented, service-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills, a team-focused approach, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities. Core duties include coordinating recruitment and onboarding efforts, assisting with employee engagement initiatives, supporting benefits and leave processes, maintaining accurate HR records and data, and delivering daily support to both employees and managers.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage recruitment for frontline and non-exempt roles: post jobs, review resumes, schedule interviews, and prepare offer letters.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support a positive candidate and new hire experience.
  • Oversee pre-employment steps, new hire paperwork, and onboarding.

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Support stay interviews, recognition programs, and employee surveys.
  • Coordinate logistics for trainings, events, and wellness activities.
  • Provide admin support for wellness and retention initiatives.

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Serve as a resource for benefits questions, enrollments, and updates.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records and assist with open enrollment.
  • Track leave documentation and ensure timely recordkeeping.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain employee records (digital and paper) in line with retention and compliance standards.
  • Respond to routine HR inquiries and employment verifications.
  • Keep required postings current and conduct regular file audits.

HRIS & Reporting

  • Enter and update employee data in ADP; ensure timely changes.
  • Generate standard reports and assist with data gathering.

Administrative & Cross-functional Support

  • Provide general support to the HR team and assist with offboarding logistics.
  • Participate in team meetings, projects, and company committees.
  • Help benchmark industry best practices and support other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; a comparable combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in Human Resources.
  • Hands-on experience managing full-cycle recruitment and executing successful hiring strategies.
  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to create reports and analyze HR data and metrics.

  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage follow-up tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with adaptability and flexibility.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration processes, including eligibility, enrollment, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and service-focused, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and shifting priorities without sacrificing quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current in subject matter knowledge and apply it effectively in practice.
