Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a longstanding local firm seeking a Human Resources Assistant. The HR Assistant will be responsible for administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, including recruiting coordination, employee onboarding, performance review processes, HR reporting, and general HRIS data management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including managing expense reports, processing invoices, tracking budgets, and compiling quarterly and annual reports.
  • Audit employee time entries, monitor time-off requests, and communicate daily attendance updates.
  • Coordinate performance review processes for paralegal and administrative staff.
  • Support recruiting efforts by reviewing applications and resumes, scheduling and coordinating interviews, and preparing interview materials.
  • Draft offer letters, prepare onboarding documents, and organize new hire orientation sessions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HR information system.
  • Assist in organizing employee communications and educational events.
  • Manage employee recognition and service anniversary programs.
  • Ensure required employer notices are reviewed and properly posted.
  • File HR documents and correspondence, manage storage preparation, and maintain inventory of offsite records.
  • Provide backup support for records retrieval and office supply ordering.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the HR team.

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven ability to interact professionally with diverse teams while maintaining a client-focused approach and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability in managing projects and proactively identifying team needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently, managing complex, multi-phase projects, and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading and document review abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experienced with HR information systems (HRIS).
