Description

Due to an upcoming retirement, AP Professionals has the opportunity to present an amazing HR Manager opportunity.  This company boasts a strong culture, continuous profitability, and a well-tenured employee base.  The Human Resources Manager is responsible for payroll and all other HR functions.  The ideal candidate will be more comfortable in a smaller environment and will enjoy wearing many hats, and is someone who enjoys interacting with people on a regular basis.  There are plenty of opportunities to grow and expand this role as well. This position will be on-site to start with flexibility to be hybrid once fully up to speed with the company and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to execute the organization's HR and talent strategy, addressing current and future talent needs, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive HR issues, including administering routine tasks in delicate situations such as reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, hiring, reference checks, and third-party background checks during onboarding.
  • Coordinate and project manage career fairs, working with marketing and hiring managers to represent the company at events.
  • Ensure compliance with legal separation requirements, conduct exit interviews, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with company's benefits broker to maintain exceptional benefits offerings, handle open enrollment, and update benefits throughout the year. Manage DBL claims and taxes.
  • Conduct healthcare and Section 125 audits and compliance testing.
  • Analyze compensation and benefits trends, research, and propose competitive pay programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Update the company Discrimination and Harassment policy and manage annual NYS Sexual Harassment training.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
  • Foster company culture through organizing events like potluck lunches, Corporate Challenge, Cancer Walk, company parties, and Town Hall meetings.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly desired.

Experience

  • At least five years of experience in human resource management is preferred.
