Description

We are currently working with a company on the east side of Rochester who is in search of a skilled LOA & Benefits Administrator. This is a short-term contract position, estimated 90-120 days. This role is onsite and pays between $30 and $35 per hour.

Responsibilities

Benefits Administration
  • Supports annual open enrollment, new hire onboarding, and qualifying life event benefit processes and programs.
  • Accurately processes all benefit enrollments, updates, and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Audits carrier feeds during open enrollment to ensure data integrity across all benefit vendor platforms for the 1/1 plan year.
  • Manages employee benefit reimbursements and related transactions.
  • Partners with the Payroll Specialist to complete end-of-year benefit and payroll tasks.
  • Coordinates ACA setup and addresses year-end reporting or compliance issues.
  • Oversees COBRA and other post-employment benefit processing to ensure compliance and timeliness.
  • Ensures 401(k) enrollments, contribution changes, and terminations are processed accurately.
  • Provides responsive and professional support to employees company-wide, addressing benefit inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Participates in benefit education sessions, wellness events, and company-wide programs to promote employee understanding and engagement in available benefit offerings. May require flexible hours to support multi-plant, multi-shift operations.
  • Completes and maintains ADP benefit workflows, audits data accuracy, and prepares regular reports to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Collaborates with benefit and insurance vendors, brokers, and ADP representatives to maintain smooth benefit operations.
  • Builds relationships across all levels of the organization and maintains availability to support a 24/7, multi-plant, multi-state workforce.
Leave of Absence Administration
  • Collaborates closely with the Manager of HR Benefits & Compliance and the third-party leave administrator to manage leave cases in accordance with policy and medical documentation; participates in weekly review meetings.
  • Communicates leave procedures and responsibilities to employees, including benefit payment continuation and payroll arrangements, and drafts correspondence or payment collection plans as needed.
Payroll & Compliance Support
  • Provides backup support to the Payroll Specialist, including during year-end processing and reconciliation activities.
  • Reconciles payroll deductions and benefit premiums related to leaves of absence in coordination with the Payroll Specialist.
  • Partners with the Employee Experience team and HR Business Partners to ensure I-9 and wage form compliance for new hires; audits and maintains physical I-9 binders.
  • Assists with compliance-related documentation, employee notices, legal reporting, and other HR administrative requirements.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources directly supporting leave administration and benefits administration.
  • Manufacturing, production, or related (multiple shifts and locations) highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of legal requirements within a multi-state operation related to leave and benefits.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and juggle multiple matters at once
  • Comprehensive understanding of a variety of HR processes and best practices
  • A pro-active, high-energy attitude, geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
  • Able to maintain the utmost in confidentiality and confidence of organization.
  • Knowledge of benefit and compensation laws including FLSA, PPACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, and GINA.
