Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local manufacturing firm seeking a Maintenance Mechanic position. The Maintenance Mechanic position will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on all production and non-production equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures as mandated by the job role and Company policies.
  • Interpret machine operation manuals to identify sources of problems effectively.
  • Disassemble, remove, repair, and/or replace defective components on manufacturing equipment.
  • Specify and estimate replacement items required for manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication and cleaning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Undertake basic repairs on building and grounds infrastructure (e.g., windows, fences, doors) and plumbing systems.
  • Fabricate simple facility improvement projects such as door frames, shelving, and partitions.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment for optimal performance.
  • Detect and diagnose malfunctions by listening for unusual sounds and discussing operational variations with supervisors or maintenance colleagues.
  • Perform cleaning and lubrication of machinery components such as shafts, bearings, and gears.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, including transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems along with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including the repair and replacement of gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Maintain the physical structure of the establishment through repair and maintenance activities.
  • Possess and maintain personal tools required for job tasks.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers, with a proficiency in Ladder Logic.
  • Be available to respond to emergency breakdown situations on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Education

  • Completion of high school diploma or attainment of a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • 3-5 years related experience or training in maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting operation manuals.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Competence in utilizing hand and power tools, as well as mechanical testing equipment.
  • Welding, machining, and plumbing experience would be advantageous.
