Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local company in search of a Payroll / Staff Accountant. The Payroll/Staff Accountant will oversee payroll operations for the company, and additionally, they will manage accounting and financial reporting for designated programs. This role entails serving as a liaison between the Finance department and Development Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll bi-weekly for company utilizing Paycor software.
  • Collect, process, and meticulously review time sheets and mileage forms for two agencies.
  • Efficiently distribute payroll for both organizations.
  • Administer Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provider payments on a monthly basis.
  • Handle Aging Services time sheets every alternate week.
  • Calculate billable units/amounts and input data into the billing system for Medicaid billing.
  • Compile various Accounts Receivable vouchers and forward them to the Director of Finance for thorough review and approval.
  • Ensure accurate accrual and recording of all revenue, and dispatch vouchers to relevant agencies.
  • Aid in the preparation of the monthly closing folder, including reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts and other supporting documentation as instructed by the Director of Finance.
  • Initiate quarterly meetings with directors to analyze actual activity against budgeted amounts.
  • Create and submit budgets to different funders, and process vouchers to secure payment from funders.
  • Serve as the fiscal liaison with development staff, delivering reports and updates upon request.
  • Act as the backup for Accounts Payable duties when necessary.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting environment, OR
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting coupled with at least five (5) years of experience in an accounting environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing payroll processing systems and software.
  • Exemplary attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and other pertinent software for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with employees and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to independently travel to diverse destinations such as the bank, post office, and various company locations, utilizing reliable transportation options such as personal vehicles, ridesharing services like Uber, or public transportation.
