Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a local company who has been in business for decades who is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Security Systems Technician to join their team. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing security systems and related equipment at prevailing wage job sites and customer locations. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent service by collaborating effectively with customers, applying technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and replace security systems, alarms, and related equipment based on blueprints and building plans, both remotely and on-site.
  • Quickly identify and resolve system malfunctions and failures.
  • Install and securely mount control panels, card readers, sensors, and video cameras, ensuring all necessary wiring is properly connected.
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver accurate proposals and ensure seamless installations and ongoing satisfaction.
  • Partner with manufacturers' technical support teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors according to wiring diagrams and system specifications.
  • Regularly check backup batteries, keypads, sirens, and other security features to verify proper operation and monitoring connectivity.
  • Review job sites, work orders, blueprints, and manuals to determine materials and installation methods.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Adhere to company procedures to address or escalate issues efficiently.
  • Complete all work orders, expense reports, and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Keep managers and supervisors informed of job progress, issues, and potential concerns.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Provide customers with clear, professional assistance on technical issues and questions.

Experience

  • Certifications in LenelS2 or other security system software.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the security services industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Must hold a valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and guiding others in the field.
