Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a well-established and growing manufacturer on the west side of Rochester seeking a Senior Accountant.  This company is growing through acquisition and is a great opportunity for someone eager to expand their accounting skill set. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including those related to revenue recognition, operating expense accruals, intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and rollforwards. Knowledge of cost accounting is a plus.
  • Maintain and reconcile schedules for prepaid expenses, amortization, and various accruals.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and consistent application of accounting policies and procedures across all accounting activities.
  • Oversee accounting processes for mergers and acquisitions, including conducting financial due diligence, performing purchase price allocations (PPA), and consolidating acquired entities.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports, including accrual entries, month-end allocations, and inventory valuation analyses.
  • Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller, and FP&A team to develop monthly financial reporting packages and assist with annual audit processes.
  • Deliver timely financial insights and analysis, such as budget-to-actual comparisons and tailored reports or tools to support business teams.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to assess the financial impact of strategic and operational business decisions.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience across diverse accounting functions, with a solid understanding and practical application of GAAP principles.
  • Proven background in accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Preferred experience with merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft GP is a plus.
