Description

AP Professionals has partnered with an established local manufacturing company in search of a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS while performing in-depth variance analysis and maintaining accurate general ledger records. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP proficiency, and a solid understanding of accounting standards in a manufacturing environment. This position is fully onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries, including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
  • Perform month- and year-end close tasks, including accruals, depreciation, and amortization.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial data, calculate key financial ratios, and provide performance insights.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure general ledger accuracy with supporting documentation.
  • Utilize ERP systems for financial transaction management and report generation.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Communicate financial insights to management, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and prevent errors.
  • Support annual audits with documentation and financial explanations.
  • Reconcile bank statements, payroll, and ERP data on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and file tax documents in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage weekly payment processing.
  • Support accounts payable by coordinating with accounting staff and assisting with invoice and payment processing.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong skills in mathematics, analysis, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various accounting software platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of organizational and financial accounting principles.
  • Experienced with ERP systems for financial management and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
  • Effective team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Familiar with financial reporting standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), particularly in a manufacturing setting.
