Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local medical company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and providing strategic insights to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with designated executives to facilitate the formulation of operating budgets, including consolidation and examination for budget review sessions, and actively contributes to the compilation of budget summaries for the Board of Directors.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with designated executives to assess financial performance against static and flexible budgets, aids in identifying variance causes, and assists in devising enhancement strategies.
  • Proactively engages in understanding and enhancing client operations, encompassing:
    • Familiarizing with clinical workflows
    • Crafting efficient staffing frameworks
    • Grasping supply chain dynamics, vendor preferences, and pricing trends
  • Develops a comprehensive comprehension of the accounting process to interpret financial transactions for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Executes monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reporting/submissions.
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations, general ledger entries, and financial statements.
  • Attends and presents at monthly board meetings.
  • Upholds established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance standards.
  • Augments professional development through participation in educational programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc., to remain updated with industry trends.
  • Ensures maintenance of requisite records, reports, and files.
  • Analyzes financial reports and records, providing recommendations concerning accounting reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Prepares and analyzes 990 workbooks and related documentation as liaison during annual audits with auditors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of previous relevant experience, including proficiency in data collection and analysis; healthcare background is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficient in computer skills with a high level of competency in software, including database administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, utilizing systematic approaches to tasks and exhibiting creativity in suggesting or developing new work methodologies or procedures.
  • Possesses strong analytical and proactive problem-solving abilities, employing techniques to identify and resolve issues promptly while adeptly gathering and analyzing information.
  • Exhibits strong organizational and documentation skills, crucial for effectively managing multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
  • Capable of delivering presentations to audiences with varying levels of financial expertise.
  • Comfortable with leading meetings and providing training to end-users on software applications, reporting tools, and financial concepts.
  • Demonstrates proven written and oral communication skills and can work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
