Description

AP Professionals is working with a local Rochester company looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst. With guidance, the Senior Benefits Analyst will gather, organize, and evaluate human resources data, metrics, and statistics related to employee benefits and leave. They will also provide training to both new and existing staff on updated policies, procedures, and the HRIS System.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the main liaison with vendors and HRIS Analyst to address and resolve issues, including ANSI file feeds.
  • Takes a leading role in development projects to ensure the successful and timely completion of health benefits system needs, ensuring accurate representation.
  • Generates current benefit reports and censuses for plan audits, insurance carriers, benefit brokers, and management.
  • Guides the implementation of new leave programs, benefits plans, and related initiatives in collaboration with Brokers, Vendors, HRIS Analyst, and the benefits team.
  • Prepares communication materials such as announcements, plan summary documents, updated Flimp postcards, benefits videos, SharePoint, and UKG portal content for employee communication plans.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and adheres to best practices.
  • Updates the life events portal as necessary with new vendor plans, rates, benefit groups, and language.
  • Documents and implements procedures, audits, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Prepares the end-of-year Open Enrollment website, collaborates with vendors on rates and communication materials for employees, and conducts audits post-close.
  • Conducts internal department training sessions to provide updates on annual enrollment and other HRIS enhancements.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Coordinates organizational training and development efforts.
  • Administers ACA monthly entries, conducts yearly audits, and manages 1095-C form mailings.
  • Trains staff in benefit policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership and support to team members regarding systems, including HRIS and Absence Soft.
  • Assists benefits administrator with various end-of-year vendor audits (HSA, Excellus, VSP, Delta, Cobra, Hartford, Aetna) to ensure compliance.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to HR and benefits administration.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years benefits related experience.
  • A High School diploma or an associate degree in human resources management plus 10 years benefits related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • UKG experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, must have Excel, and V-look up experience.
  • Advanced HRIS benefit platform experience.
  • Absence Soft experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and be detailed oriented.
  • Possess excellent organizational and customer service skills.
