Description

Do you have healthcare finance experience? If so, this is the job for you! AP Professionals has partnered with a local healthcare non-profit in search of a Senior Director of Finance. The Senior Director of Finance will oversee the organization's financial, accounting, cash management, grant administration, and contracting functions. They will leverage strong analytical and strategic planning skills while collaborating with the CFO to adapt to changing priorities and achieve financial goals. This newly created position provides an opportunity for growth within a cross-functional, supportive, and mission-driven environment with a hybrid schedule after initial training.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the accounting, financial reporting, grant reporting, tax filing, audit, and other financial functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis, including the development of revenue, expense, capital, and cash budgets.
  • Oversee the development, issuance, and monitoring of all contracts.
  • Establish and lead effective operational and administrative departments, including Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Risk Management.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to ensure the organization's long- and short-term financial sustainability and integrity through monitoring, analysis, and appropriate management strategies.
  • Evaluate the return on investment for all significant organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in quarterly Investment Committee meetings.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, and financial advisors.
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of internal systems for fiscal planning, accounting, payroll operations, tax planning, grant fiscal administration, and financial reporting.
  • Manage all aspects of risk management, including administering insurance plans.
  • Prepare and present financial and operational reports to the Board’s Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Stay informed about local, state, and national decisions regarding Medicaid and healthcare delivery system reforms, focusing on their potential impact on the community.
  • Assist in evaluating major business opportunities to determine future growth potential through strategic alliances, expansion, services, and key hires.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor the Finance Team, developing a system of evaluation and accountability to ensure successful job function completion and provide for the team's continued growth and development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare, or Business Administration preferred.

Experience

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and operations, including staff management.
  • Experience in healthcare organizations.
  • Experience in grant and contract administration.
  • Proven experience in P&L management, including budget forecasting, analysis, and planning.
  • Executive-level finance and management experience, demonstrating the ability to act as a proactive business partner.
