AP Professionals is partnering with a local manufacturer in search of a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator holds a crucial position in overseeing shipping and receiving operations to guarantee punctual and precise delivery of products and materials. This role necessitates a detail-oriented individual with robust organizational skills and adeptness in collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outbound shipments of finished products, ensuring meticulous attention to packaging, labeling, and documentation accuracy.
  • Prepare comprehensive shipping documents, encompassing bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs paperwork for international shipments.
  • Collaborate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries while closely monitoring shipment progress.
  • Ensure strict adherence to shipping regulations, export controls, and liaise with customs brokers for seamless imports and exports, including completion of commercial invoices.
  • Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies, meticulously verifying quantity and quality against corresponding purchase orders.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of received materials to identify any damage or discrepancies, promptly reporting issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to swiftly resolve discrepancies or issues pertaining to incoming shipments.
  • Maintain meticulous records of receiving transactions in inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Uphold precise inventory records encompassing received materials, finished products, and supplies to facilitate streamlined operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels vigilantly and collaborate closely with production and procurement teams to uphold optimal stock levels.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and contribute to periodic physical inventory audits to rectify any inventory discrepancies effectively.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of shipping and receiving activities, including comprehensive shipping logs, receiving reports, and updated inventory records.
  • Generate insightful reports highlighting shipping and receiving performance metrics, encompassing on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and shipment costs.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding shipping and receiving activities, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with inventory management software.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, adept at task prioritization and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
