Description

AP Professionals has partnered with an established organization who has been in business for decades in search of a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will ensure accurate accounting records across multiple entities within the organization. Key responsibilities include preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements, supporting the month-end close process, assisting with annual budgeting and cash forecasting, coordinating audits, managing accounts receivable, and handling sales tax preparation, submission, and payment.

 

This is an on-site, Direct Hire position, paying $26-30/hour. They offer performance-based incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, 401K, and more!

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Execute monthly and year-end closing procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries, identifying and resolving account discrepancies, and researching variances as needed.
  • Prepare and record intercompany transactions across entities each month.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Calculate, file, and remit sales and use tax for applicable entities on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Review and verify previous day banking activity for all accounts.
  • Assist in developing annual operating budgets, cash forecasts, and performance projections.
  • Maintain the fixed assets schedule and record depreciation calculations.
  • Support the preparation of year-end audit and review schedules for the CPA firm.
  • Perform detailed account analyses and reconciliations as required.
  • Serve as a dependable backup for the Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned or requested.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
