Systems Administrator

AP Professionals has partnered with a local, and growing, MSP that is looking to add a highly motivated Systems Administrator/Engineer to join their team! Open due to growth! The Systems Administrator/Engineer will assist local Rochester, NY clients with troubleshooting their technology, assisting with high-level issues, and guiding and advising clients on the best course of action. Prior experience in a Windows environment is required! Prior industry experience within an MSP highly desired.

This is a full-time, direct hire position with an onsite requirement at a centrally located Rochester, NY office. This position offers opportunities for bonuses, continued advancement, and certifications!

• Troubleshoot Windows or MAC systems both remotely and onsite
• Identify the optimal solution based on the issue and details provided by the customer
• Guide customers through the problem-solving process
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support personnel
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot client systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
• Install, configure, and manage operating systems, software applications, and hardware components.
• Implement and manage security measures to protect client data and IT assets.
• Provide technical support and assistance to clients, resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with team members to plan and implement system upgrades and migrations.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance service offerings.

• 2-5+ years of experience supporting Windows in a commercial environment
• Intermediate to Advanced level skills within Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 7/8.1/10), Microsoft Office application suite, and Apple macOS (macOS 10.x.y)
• Beginner to intermediate-level skills with Windows Server (2008/2012/2016), networking, UTM, firewalls, and inter-intranet systems, and MSO365 and Google apps
• Prior experience in a MSP environment highly desired

• Must possess or pass the A+ exam within 6 months
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to self-manage and find solutions independently
