Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial data to support ongoing compliance with specific tax classifications, including generating income projections to monitor required distributions.
  • Collaborate with third-party firms in the preparation of domestic and international tax filings, and assist in reviewing their submitted materials for accuracy.
  • Calculate and manage quarterly tax prepayments and extension filings; ensure timely and accurate remittance of related payments.
  • Develop tax-related financial reporting materials, including interim and year-end tax provisions, supporting documentation, and relevant disclosures.
  • Oversee tax treatment of capital assets, including verifying depreciation calculations and maintaining accurate records of asset basis, inclusive of exchange transactions.
  • Prepare and review various regulatory filings, including jurisdictional tax reports and tangible property tax submissions.
  • Manage incoming tax correspondence and coordinate prompt responses to governmental inquiries or notices.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research as needed and maintain thorough documentation of findings.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in alignment with internal policies and established guidelines.
  • Take on other related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods may be required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • CPA or active progress toward obtaining the designation is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in a tax-focused role.

  • Solid foundation in corporate and partnership tax concepts, with specific experience in multi-state income tax compliance.
  • Working knowledge of income tax accounting under U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Familiarity with the real estate industry is a plus.
  • Experience in a public company environment is preferred.
