Description

AP Professionals is recruiting for a VP of Accounting on behalf of our client, a successful and growing company. This position serves as a business partner to executive leadership and directs the general accounting, analysis, planning, and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate can simultaneously be hands-on and strategic. Furthermore, experience with acquisitions and private equity partners is a must! Supervise a team of 4-5 direct reports. Fully onsite role. Above-market compensation compared to the local market. Annual bonus potential up to 20%, based on personal and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of daily operating reports and monthly financial statements
  • Provide financial analysis to aid executives with strategic decision making
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions
  • Manage cash flow
  • Collaborate with purchasing department to manage inventory
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain company-wide checks and balances / internal controls
  • Support and develop staff
  • Ad hoc projects and reporting as requested

Education

  • bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • MBA, CPA, and/or CMA highly preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a financial management position
  • experience with acquisitions and related accounting is a must
  • prior experience with private equity partners a plus
  • prior manufacturing industry experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in general ledger, financial analysis, and GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage/delegate
