Description

Responsible for processing and maintaining the company’s financial transaction records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Also provides support in the preparation of related accounting records and financial reports.

Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

  • Performs tasks related to maintaining records and generating reports for accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and other financial activities.

  • Gathers, organizes, and files documents related to business transactions such as invoices and checks.

  • Reviews and enters financial transactions into the accounting system.

  • Prepares and distributes various financial documents including vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, and reports.

  • Calculates and records transaction details, including billing amounts, freight costs, material charges, and other financial data.

  • Records the details of business transactions into subsidiary ledger accounts.

  • Assists with monthly and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and report preparation.

  • Works with other departments to ensure accurate processing and recording of financial transactions.

  • Communicates regularly with customers and vendors to verify information, resolve transaction issues, and maintain positive professional relationships.

  • Supports supervisors with special projects involving financial transactions and accounting processes.

  • Follows all safety guidelines and housekeeping procedures, promotes safe practices throughout the workplace, and addresses safety concerns promptly.

  • Supports company policies by collaborating with team members and demonstrating reliability and adaptability to help achieve departmental, organizational, and customer goals related to quality, service, and productivity.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent level of proficiency in reading, writing, communication, business math, computer basics, accounting principles, and general business knowledge

Experience

  • One to two years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within a small to medium-sized company; manufacturing industry experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Physical requirements are comparable to those of a standard office role within a manufacturing setting.

  • Capable of performing duties in a standard office environment located within a manufacturing facility.
