Description

AP Professionals is partnering with a local healthcare manufacturer looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team! The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the daily operations of invoice processing, payment execution, and issue resolution within the Accounts Payable function. As a member of the Shared Services Center based in Rochester, New York, the Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with regional partners and the North American Finance team to support efficient and compliant financial operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Accounts Payable process, including the receipt, review, and processing of vendor invoices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and reconcile outstanding items on vendor statements
  • Monitor and respond promptly to inquiries via AP phone lines and email queues, ensuring timely communication with both internal teams and external vendors
  • Contribute to the monthly financial close by ensuring accurate and timely reporting of Accounts Payable transactions
  • Support compliance efforts by assisting with reporting, audits, and other regulatory requirements across the OCD organization.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental needs

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Prior experience in a Shared Service Center environment is advantageous
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP reporting standards is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes, stakeholders, and initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong interpersonal skills
