Description

AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company in search of a Controller. The Controller will oversee key accounting operations and support financial strategy, process improvement, and global alignment, while leading and developing a growing finance team. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and performance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee month-end close, US bank accounts and reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with department leaders.
  • Implement internal controls, improve financial processes, and ensure policy compliance.
  • Provide financial support for projects, grants, and government funding efforts.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decisions and analysis.
  • Collaborate with international finance teams to align reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Manage sales and use tax filings, indirect rates, cost allocations, and annual tax reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as needed based on organizational priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Experience

  • At least 7 years of recent accounting experience, including 3+ years in a controller or similar leadership role.
  • Preferred background in technology and manufacturing industries, with exposure to both government and commercial clients.
  • Experience with international finance operations and collaboration with foreign subsidiaries highly valued.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and advanced Excel.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with government contract accounting (FAR/DFARS) and German language a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team.
